Making baby bootees

I’m trying to make these baby bootees. They are from Simple Knits for Cherished Babies by Erika Knight.

The directions say 1 (1:1) x 25g ball 4 ply yarn. Since I’m pretty new to knitting I have no idea what this means. Not a clue. I’ve pretty much been making scarves and purses and stuff that I’m not too worried about the size. Well so I made one bootee with this left over blue yarn.

And it’s too small. Ho hum. Gotta rip it!

4 ply yarn usually means fingering weight. Especially when they refer to baby’s things. Something that will probably get you 8 stitches an inch. Sometimes, they tell you to use baby weight yarn. That could also mean fingering or sport weight. Have fun!

Thank you for the comment Varant. It just teaches me that I need to make a swatch. And I knew that before I started. It’s just sometimes I’m raring to go and knit something I don’t want to do a test swatch.

Ooooh, those are so cute. You didn’t have to pull them. Did you already pull them. Give them to me.
